Hawaiian Flowers – Makuahine ‘Mother’ Assortment

We named this Hawaiian flower assortment with the Hawaiian word for mother. Most of our tropical flowers are sent as gifts. Many of these gifts go to mothers. It is always proper to say ‘I love you’ or ‘Thank you’ to mom. Birthdays and anniversaries are common times to send Hawaiian flowers. And of course Mother’s Day is our busiest week of the year.

This assortment is also suitable as a gift for anyone anytime. It is one of our more popular because of the variety of Hawaiian flowers it contains.

The most noticeable is the tall and slightly heavy upright heliconia. It’s bright red blooms are sometimes said to resemble lobster claws. These structures are called bracts from which tiny flowers emerge.

Anthuriums are always a winning tropical flower choice. We’ve included them in three striking colors. The midori anthurium is a bright, natural green. The deep red will complement the heliconia in your arrangement. And soft pink is a striking favorite.

To complete this assortment we add a protea relative called safari sunset. This resembles a rose bud and opens to a lovely deep red. If they are not available we will substitute exotic ginger.

Ti and hala leaves will add some natural foliage. They can also be used to fill in any open spaces.

We send this and all of our selections as full length stems. Arranging is easy and a matter of one’s personal taste. To make them look like our picture here just follow the simple steps seen below and on our blog.
