Makahiki – ‘Aloha Festival’ Hawaiian Flower Assortment
Makahiki in the Hawaiian tradition is a time to celebrate an end to the work of harvesting and to celebrate with feasts, worship and hula. We’ve created this assortment to help you celebrate any special occasion or event. The abundance of red and green flowers make this an excellent choice during the Christmas season.
This Hawaiian flower assortment includes a wide mixture of favorite tropical flowers. We use bright red and natural green anthuriums. We add tall red ginger and a golden colored tropic fleur heliconia. Then fill these in with unusual banksia and rose bud like safari sunset proteas from Maui.
There was no warfare, farming or fishing during this time. The duration is determined by the lunar calendar and the appearance of the Pleiades in the night sky, roughly from October to February.
Today Hawaii celebrates this time with the Aloha Festivals.
Arrives unarranged with full length stems. Just place in your favorite vase and enjoy. Last minute orders are subject to substitution. Vase style may vary.
